Hi! I’m Daniel Sagerman.

Welcome to my website.

I’m glad you’re here!

“Daniel is a hard-working, creative young professional who made us better during his time at Northwestern. He brought unparalleled passion to our department as a student, working with our marketing staff, orchestrating social media for our Wildside student fan group, and attending every Wildcats sporting event the schedule allowed. Simply being a sports fan is not enough to thrive in this industry, and Daniel is someone who has effectively channeled passion into productivity and has an extremely bright future.”

– Dr. Jim Phillips, Commissioner, Atlantic Coast Conference; former Vice President for Athletics & Recreation, Northwestern University

“Daniel has made a huge impact on our brand recognition and growth. His knowledge of digital marketing and his passion for results really set him apart. He continues to be a big part of our future.”

– Shawn Hunter, Owner, Chicago Dogs Baseball

“The only thing that stands out to me more than Daniel’s unparalleled blend of talent and creativity is his voracious dedication. When he’s faced with a project, Daniel attacks it with a focus and drive I haven’t seen in anyone else. As a cherry on top, he’s one of the most compassionate people I’ve ever had the joy of working with.”

– Sam Brief, Media Relations Manager, Chicago Dogs Baseball

“I continue to be inspired by Daniel’s relentless work ethic and his passion for improving either his own skillsets or the tasks he is working on. His unwavering loyalty and drive for success set him apart from others. He is certain to be an asset to anyone who enlists his services.”

My Journey

Association of Pickleball Players  •  Media Relations Officer • Chicago, IL

Pickleball is America’s fastest growing sport. More than 50 million people have tried the sport at least once since 2022, and it’s a growing cultural phenomenon.

The APP Tour is the world’s first and world’s best professional pickleball tour, and it’s my job to manage all public relations and media relations for the APP.

I write press releases, pitch to national and local media outlets, host them at events, manage our newsletter, organize our photography and digital assets during tournaments, and wear many more hats as well.

Intersport  •  Media Relations + Social Media Coordinator • Chicago, IL

As Media Relations Coordinator for Intersport – one of the world’s largest sports marketing companies – I served as on-site media relations manager for the Under Armour All-America Game in Orlando and Fort Myers Tip-Off college basketball tournament in Fort Myers, Florida.

I wrote press releases, game previews & recaps, media guides, game notes, and roster flipcards. I administered the check-in process, distributed credentials, and facilitated press conferences & interviews for all media members. I also organized the Camping World Stadium press box for media members, including personalized gameday publications at every seat, to prepare for the Under Armour All-America football game – featuring the top 100 high school football players in the country in a nationally televised game on ESPN.

Being in this role helped shape me into an adaptable, dependable communicator while developing and maintaining professional relationships with media members.

Resilience Digital Solutions  •  Founder and CEO
Long Grove, IL

In December 2020, I started my own business – Resilience Digital Solutions – a social media and digital marketing consulting company primarily helping small businesses in suburban Chicago. My creative services included the formation of social media pages, digital marketing campaigns, and analytic reviews of current practices.

In addition to making a difference in my local community, my experience as an entrepreneur has led to some incredibly valuable opportunities in the world of media relations and social media.

National Football League  •  Social Media Research Analyst • New York, NY

In the fall of 2021, I began my role as Social Media Research Analyst for the National Football League (NFL). I analyze social media content for the NFL’s Live Content team utilizing the CrowdTangle platform, and benchmark Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to determine best practices across social media channels for the most valuable sports league in the world.

PGA of America  •  Social Media Coordinator (Remote) • Palm Beach Gardens, FL

I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve as primary Social Media Coordinator for the PGA of America, primarily focusing on the 2021 PGA Championships and KPMG Women’s PGA Championships. I managed the official Twitter pages for the PGA of America itself (@PGA), in addition to the two tournaments’ accounts (@PGAChampionship and @KPMGWomensPGA).

I clipped, edited, and distributed highlight videos throughout the PGA Championship and KPMG Women’s PGA Championship tournament weekends, consumed by over 500,000 combined followers worldwide. I composed social copy for the tweets, including sponsored content to integrate corporate partnerships, to go along with the highlight clips. You can see examples in the Social Posts section of this website.

My content consistently generated tens of thousands of impressions – including my most successful post: 2021 PGA Champion Phil Mickelson wowing the crowd with a historic shot.

Chicago Dogs Baseball  •  Media Relations/Social Media Manager • Rosemont, IL

In the summer of 2019, I worked in the Media Relations department for the Chicago Dogs professional baseball team in Rosemont, Illinois. As primary social media manager, I was tasked with revitalizing the Dogs’ social media presence. I communicated live updates, graphics, and team insight to a growing audience of thousands.

I revolutionized the Dogs’ brand presentation by implementing a consistent voice and visual identity across all social media platforms. My efforts helped acquire over 1,600 new Twitter followers – a 25% increase – in just four months, with over 1 million monthly impressions.

With the Dogs, I wore many hats. I directed professional media relations campaigns, composed informational publications using the Adobe Creative Suite, designed logos & credentials, and even occasionally hopped on the game broadcast to contribute as a color commentator.

Northwestern University Athletics • Communications Assistant • Evanston, IL

Prior to joining the Chicago Dogs, I interned for two years in the Northwestern University Athletics Department as a Communications Assistant while earning my Master’s in Sports Administration.

As a Northwestern alum and lifelong Wildcats fan, this role was a dream come true. I could not have asked for a better group of professionals to work with and be mentored by. This role allowed me to both learn from a widely-respected Communications Department and also showcase my creative talents.

I managed several social media accounts – generating countless stories, graphics, and fan engagement. I was appointed as the primary media contact for the Women’s Fencing team and developed the team’s marketing communication plan for the 2018-19 season – one of the most successful years in team history.

I consistently met publication timelines for timely statistics and press releases. I also designed and produced creative assets for Northwestern Athletics’ official website and social media accounts, utilizing Adobe Creative Suite.

I also worked as a Marketing Intern for Northwestern Athletics during my junior year as an undergrad. I assisted the department in providing a world-class fan experience through gameday marketing operations – including in-stadium LED graphic operations and on-field contests & promotions.

Northwestern Alumni Relations • Reunion Programs Intern • Evanston, IL

In the summer of 2016, I joined the Reunion Programs team at the Northwestern University Department of Alumni Relations & Development.

In preparation for Northwestern’s 2016 Homecoming and Reunion Weekend, attended by over 5,000 alumni and guests, my main project involved designing and implementing the first ever mobile application for the weekend’s festivities. The app, complete with useful information such as schedules, maps, transportation information, and guest services, amassed over 500 downloads.

Another major project involved analyzing & benchmarking Northwestern’s Reunion programs to those of its peer institutions, in order to improve Northwestern’s event programming quality during Reunion weekend.
